ROTO VTOL ALERON

The platform is designed to support the installation of video gimbals and a wide range of mission-specific sensors, enabling full payload flexibility for surveillance, mapping, and data collection applications.

Classic pusher configuration. The wing is divided into three parts – a central section with VTOL motors (approx. 1 m wide) and two outer sections (1.5–2 m) for easy transport.

Four-stroke, two-cylinder boxer engine with electronic fuel injection and integrated starter-generator. Allows operation at altitudes up to 3,000 - 4,000 meters.

The aircraft uses electric motors for vertical takeoff and a combustion engine (ROTO 85FS or 125FS) for horizontal flight.

ROTO 85 FS

fuel injection

85_4x.png

Designed for fuel-efficient performance and long-range missions.

The Roto 85 FS is ideal for UAV operations where endurance, weight, and simplicity are critical. This configuration is optimized for low- to medium-altitude applications, especially in surveillance, mapping, and environmental monitoring.

  • Optimized for endurance: Designed for operations where long flight time is more important than maximum power output.

  • Exceptional fuel efficiency: Minimizes operational costs and maximizes range — perfect for long-duration missions.

  • Lightweight and compact: Excellent power-to-weight ratio allows for higher payload margin and easier integration.

  • Fully integrated: Ready to connect via CAN BUS and compatible with Pixhawk autopilot — no extra tuning needed.

  • Field-ready design: Plug & Play engine swap system allows for fast maintenance and redeployment on-site.

  • Starter-generator included: Enables remote engine start and provides stable power to onboard systems during flight.

  • Low maintenance: Long TBO (Time Between Overhaul) and minimal service requirements reduce downtime.

ROTO 125 FS

fuel injection

125_4x.png

Designed for high-power performance and altitude-demanding missions.

The Roto 125 FS delivers increased thrust and operational robustness, making it ideal for UAVs that must perform in challenging conditions, including high elevations, strong winds, or when carrying advanced onboard equipment.

  • More power for demanding missions: Operates reliably in high-altitude or harsh conditions where thrust is critical.

  • Supports heavier payloads: Suitable for UAVs with higher Maximum Takeoff Weight and complex onboard equipment.

  • Faster cruise speed: Increased output allows for higher-speed flight profiles in tactical or commercial scenarios.

  • Seamless integration: As with the 85 FS, fully compatible with Pixhawk and CAN BUS — no extra setup required.

  • Mission-grade durability: Designed for defense, government, or institutional applications where reliability is non-negotiable.

  • Multi-engine ready: Supports redundancy setups or rapid reconfiguration with multiple matched units per airframe.

  • Extended service life: Built for long-term deployment with high operational uptime and reduced lifecycle costs.

Why We Built Aleron

ROTOmotor is a leading European manufacturer of four-stroke combustion engines for UAVs, with decades of experience powering fixed-wing unmanned aircraft. In response to the growing demand for complete UAV solutions, we’re proud to introduce Aleron – a fully integrated VTOL platform designed to accelerate development and simplify deployment.

Instead of spending months building a system from the ground up, customers can now integrate a ready-to-fly VTOL solution into their project — quickly and reliably. And because we are the direct manufacturers, we can tailor both the Aleron airframe and its components to your specific mission requirements.

Whether you need one unit or a full production series, we’re ready to deliver exactly what you need — with speed, precision, and full support.

Key Advantages

Every component of our VTOL platform was developed with integrators in mind — to reduce complexity, increase reliability, and shorten deployment time. Below are the key reasons why developers, OEMs, and field teams trust ROTOmotor when performance and uptime are mission-critical.

Buy & Fly

The ROTOmotor VTOL platform is delivered fully assembled and flight-ready, eliminating the need for additional setup or calibration. This sets it apart from modular or semi-integrated systems, which require time-consuming installation and testing. With Buy & Fly, teams can focus on the mission, not the hardware — offering a seamless start for both prototyping and deployment.

Fully Integrated

Designed for immediate compatibility with Pixhawk and CAN BUS protocols, the platform simplifies communication between avionics and propulsion. Unlike solutions that require adapters or rewiring, it offers native integration and standardized control pathways. This makes it ideal for teams seeking a truly plug-and-play experience with minimal engineering overhead.

Proven Engines

All ROTO engines used in the platform have been tested at scale across various UAV operations worldwide. Their repeatable performance and identical characteristics across batches ensure predictability, which is critical for fleet deployments. Reliability isn't an added feature — it's built into the foundation of every system we deliver.

Quick Engine Swap

The propulsion unit is built for long-term performance, but when needed — whether for scheduled maintenance, configuration changes, or multi-mission setups — it can be swapped in minutes using standard tools. This minimizes downtime and allows seamless transitions between aircraft roles or deployments.

Starter-Generator

Integrated directly into the engine system, the starter-generator enables remote engine start and provides consistent onboard power during flight. Unlike external solutions, this compact unit reduces wiring complexity and weight. It's a single component that solves two critical functions — ignition and power supply — without compromise.

Flight Endurance

With fuel as the only limiting factor, the ROTOmotor VTOL platform supports extended missions far beyond the constraints of electric or hybrid UAVs. No recharge downtime, no battery management — just efficient combustion and long-haul capability, tailored for endurance-critical operations like surveillance and mapping.

Multiple Option

For users operating under demanding conditions or high-frequency missions, the platform supports easy swapping of identical engine units. Having multiple matched engines per airframe ensures consistent performance, faster redeployment, and a simplified maintenance routine — ideal for fleet-scale planning and redundancy.

TBO

ROTO engines are built for durability, with extended time between overhauls thanks to precision engineering and proven materials. Unlike lightweight or disposable systems, this platform is made for sustained use with minimal service interruption — keeping total cost of ownership low and airworthiness high.

Operational Readiness

From factory to field, the entire system is designed for fast deployment and minimal configuration. Each platform is pre-tested and pre-calibrated, with full documentation included. This ensures a smooth transition from delivery to mission use — even for teams operating under time pressure or in unfamiliar environments.
