ABOUT

Introducing a single-cylinder four-stroke engine, air-cooled, controlled by a CDI unit with a preset advance curve for smooth operation, designed for use in UAV projects. It is most sought after for V-TOL projects, where this engine is commonly used due to its acceptable weight, good performance, and especially low fuel consumption.

We specialize in the development and manufacturing of top-tier four-stroke engines, designed with long-term durability, efficient fuel consumption, and flexibility in use in mind. Our engines are the ideal choice for UAV projects that require reliability and efficiency in demanding conditions.

We offer an extensive range of engines from 35cc to 170cc, covering a wide spectrum of applications, from lightweight UAVs to more demanding aircraft that require greater power. All our engines are equipped with a remote start option via a starter generator, which also provides electrical power for onboard needs, thus increasing the flexibility and autonomy of your projects.

Explore with us the possibilities our engines can offer, and take your project to new heights with ROTOMOTOR. Our technical teams are ready to help you find the best solution for your needs.

It is highly sought after for UAV, V-TOL, and Heli projects, where this engine is most commonly used due to its favorable weight-to-power ratio, high performance, and very low fuel consumption. The Roto 125 FS UAV has a high lifespan, its long durability is continuously tested in many projects around the world. This engine is the most sought-after type in the UAV sector, notable for its high performance and low fuel consumption.

Introducing a four-cylinder, four-stroke engine, air-cooled, is equipped with a controlled CDI unit with a preset advance curve for smooth operation. This engine stands out for its very smooth operation without vibrations. These low vibrations are achieved by the engine's design, where as an opposed boxer it has excellent characteristics in all projects where it is necessary to ensure smooth operation without vibrations. Its excellent fuel consumption is also achieved by the option to use Roto EFI equipment for reaching high altitudes or low fuel consumption. The Roto 170 FS UAV has a high lifespan, thanks to the materials used in pistons and cylinder liners.

Start Generator

Under the brand "STG Roto," we offer start generators with outputs of 550W and 1300W. Designed for peak performance and efficiency, the STG Roto start generators work exclusively with the E-Control unit. This electronic system is tailored for managing motor-generators, enabling remote combustion engine startups, battery recharging, and hybrid operation, thereby enhancing the combustion engine's performance (Hybrid system).

The "STG Roto" generators convert mechanical energy into electrical energy through the principle of electromagnetic induction. Here, the rotating part (the rotor) creates a moving magnetic field, which induces an electric current in the coils of the stator (the stationary part of the generator).

From the graph, it's evident that both the STG ROTO 550W and the STG ROTO 1300W begin to operate at 2500 RPM, achieving their maximum output at 5500 RPM. This demonstrates their efficiency and robust power generation capability across a wide range of operational speeds, ensuring that UAV projects have the power they need, precisely when they need it.

Performance

Thanks to the E-Control unit, STG Roto generators have the capability of remote starting and managing the combustion engine. This allows users to activate the generator remotely. Additionally, the generators can recharge batteries, which is crucial for maintaining power in other UAV project controls, significantly extending their potential usage time.

Smart operations

Generator

Generators under the trademark "AL Roto" are available in the range from 300 to 1000W. These power generators have been developed with Roto regulators, capable of providing a stabilized voltage in the range of 3.3V to 60V. These generators do not feature the capability for remote starting of the internal combustion engine.
Their main advantage lies in their ability to deliver high power with stabilized voltage energy, ideal for direct power consumption onboard your project.

Fuel system

Electronic fuel injection

One of the significant benefits of electronic fuel injection (EFI) is its ability to achieve remarkably low fuel consumption. When installed on the Roto 125 FS engine, the EFI can realize fuel savings of up to 40% compared to traditional carbureted engines. While the initial costs for the EFI Roto system are higher than those of carburetor-based engines, we offer a basic injection package, with all additional components available for customization based on individual needs.

The production version is designed with the assumption that no extra devices such as lambda probes, temperature sensors, and the Control module are necessary for the EFI setup. By the time of mass production, the initial higher costs will be balanced out by the savings afforded by the lower-priced EFI Light and reduced fuel consumption.

Significant advantage is the system's capability to operate efficiently at altitudes above 5000 meters above sea level.

Carburetor

For all Roto engines, Walbro brand carburetors can be utilized. These carburetors are primarily used for missions at lower altitudes, typically up to 1000 meters above sea level (m.a.s.l.), where there is no need yet to compensate for the amount of oxygen. Carburetors also bring significant added value in terms of cost; they are often a much cheaper option than the Roto EFI system. Therefore, Roto always recommends considering the economics of the project.

The performance of engines is very similar, so it cannot be determined whether an engine with EFI or a carburetor will be more powerful or not. Another important parameter is the economy of flight; EFI always has better fuel consumption than a carburetor.
